The organisation

This marketplace is one of the biggest online platforms for the supply and demand of rooms, studios and apartments for a broad range of users like: students, young professionals and expats.

Users can crreate an (paid) account to get in touch with tenants, landlords and potential roommates. The website and platform has about 100 million page views a year, the website is visited about 18 million times, around 450 thousand of profiles are active, and around 100 thousands rooms, studio’s and apartments are advertised. Your role is to keep front and back end processes as smooth as possible and you will implement new tools to built a better platform, all for a better user friendly experience.

.NET Developer Role

As a Full stack developer you will be focussd on all aspects of the platforms, and work 60% back end and about 40% front end. Daily you are responsable for making the front end connect to the back end and developing. The front end which involves a lot of JavaScript/ jquery/ ajax techniques. Unlike some companies that are mostly about keeping things running, this organisation  always aim to innovate and develop creative solutions for out-of-the box ideas. So if you don’t like to do the same task day after day, you just might be the right person for the job.

The Team

In this role you are going to work with a passionate scrum team of 7 people which includes 2 full-stack developers, 2 front-end developers, dedicated tester, a scrum master and a product owner. This team contains 2 senior developers with many years of experience. There is always someone to learn from!

In collaboration with the Product Owner, sprints will be carefully scheduled by means of points poker, based on the velocity of previous sprints. Nevertheless, with a lot of innovative projects coming up, it’s going to be a challenge to make all deadlines. The work you have performed will be directly visible on the platform, and you’ll receive feedback from both our end-users and the business.

What are your tasks?

• Realising webprojects; development of the Web platform
• Support the related services (like API’s for the apps)
• Contributing ideas and solutions with regard to technical issues
• Close collaboration with the product owner and in-house developers
• Direct contact with the external system administrators you’re supporting and vice versa
• Coaching junior team members
• Take ownership of the software development process

Required:

• IT-related Higher Vocational / University education and/or otherwise at least 6 years of experience as a C#.Net developer
